Ash

The ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is a large, fast-growing deciduous tree that can reach heights of up to 40 meters. The tree has an open, uniform crown and a rather slender growth habit.

It is known for its compound, odd-pinnate leaves with up to 13 leaflets, which emerge late and fall off while still green in the fall.

Its tough, hard, and elastic wood is used for tools, sports equipment, furniture, and, originally, weapons as well.
