Hornbeam

The hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) is a hardy, native deciduous tree with smooth, gray bark that grows to a height of 15 to 25 meters and has a dense, rounded crown.

Its leaves are double-serrated; they turn golden yellow in the fall and often remain on the tree well into winter.
