Sand birch

The silver birch (Betula pendula) is a slender, deciduous tree with distinctive white, flaking bark and weeping branches that can grow to a height of 20 to 30 meters.

Its triangular, light green leaves turn a bright yellow in the fall.

The birch grows fairly quickly, is very undemanding in terms of soil, and is considered a pioneer tree. Its wood is used for furniture, plywood, and musical instruments.
