8 trees planted in the new wedding forest

Last Saturday, the new wedding forest of the joint municipality of Uelsen in Uelser Holt was officially inaugurated. After the original wedding forest, in which more than 150 trees had been planted since 2016, was fully occupied, the joint municipality of Uelsen set out to find a suitable new area. With the area in Uelser Holt, a particularly scenic and easily accessible location was found that invites walkers and cyclists to visit "their" tree at any time.

The first tree in the new wedding forest was planted by representatives of the joint municipal council. An oak tree - a symbol of constancy and solidarity - now marks the start of the new area. Seven more trees were then planted on various occasions.

During a small ceremony, the mayor of the municipality, Hajo Bosch, presented the families with their planting certificates and a voucher for a leisurely coffee at Blekker's Hofcafé.

As in previous campaigns, the planting occasions were varied: in addition to trees for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, a tree was also planted this year to mark the 175th anniversary of the Bürger-Schützenverein . Various native tree species such as maple, lime, beech and oak were planted. Hajo Bosch emphasized that each tree not only has a personal significance, but also makes a small but important contribution to climate protection and creates a valuable habitat for plants and animals.

The new wedding forest in Uelser Holt will continue to grow over the coming years and give many people the opportunity to permanently mark a special event in their lives. This area should then also be a place of growth and cohesion - a place where personal stories are combined with nature, according to the mayor of the joint municipality, Hajo Bosch
