Over the past year, the district of Grafschaft Bentheim has been working with the municipalities belonging to the district on a special plan to cope with a prolonged power outage.
The results were recently presented at the district hall:
In the event of a prolonged power outage or to deal with other extraordinary situations, the Uelsen joint municipality crisis team is convened.
An important part of crisis management is informing citizens, including the possibility of making emergency calls and providing medical first aid. For this purpose, the joint municipality of Uelsen sets up emergency information points (NIP) in the event of a crisis. The tasks in brief: informing the population about the latest developments, making emergency calls, providing first aid kits
In the short term:
- Town hall of the joint municipality of Uelsen
- Uelsen fire station
- Wilsum fire station
- Itterbeck fire station
If the exceptional situation lasts longer than 12 hours, NIPs will be set up at the following locations:
- Town hall Samtgemeinde Uelsen
- Daycare center Dorfspatzen, Getelo
- Village meeting place Gölenkamp
- Itterbeck community center
- Haller Treff
- Municipal office Wielen
- Wilsum municipal office
The members are made up of local councillors, firefighters from the old-age and honorary departments and volunteers from the public.
It will also be possible to charge important battery-powered devices (e.g. ventilators) in the town hall of the joint municipality of Uelsen, as the town hall has an emergency power supply. Medical first aid will also be provided by the DRK-Uelsen.
