It is the first stop for many locals and guests: the parking lot on the corner of Linnenbachweg and Fasanenweg - the starting point for the adventure playground, hikes through the woods and the camping and vacation park. So far rather functional, this is soon to change.
👉 The municipality of Uelsen is planning a comprehensive upgrade of the area.
Instead of muddy parking spaces and weathered signs, the parking lot is to be made water-permeable, natural and visually appealing in future. The plans include grass pavers, infiltration troughs and a new, ecological use of a previously unused area.
🌼 More nature and quality of stay
A wildflower meadow with fruit trees is being created at the rear of the area, separated by a hedge. In future, benches will invite you to linger - perfect for a short break before or after an excursion.
💬 "We are not sealing, but upgrading ecologically," explain municipal director Hajo Bosch and mayor Wilfried Segger. Funding from the "Natural climate protection in municipalities" funding program has been secured. Further support is hoped for from the Bingo environmental foundation.
📅 The conversion has been politically decided and should - if possible - be implemented this year.
🌿 This creates a natural and inviting starting point for excursions, walks and visits to playgrounds in Uelsen. 🌼
