New habitat for insects in Bürgerpark Uelsen

The Bürgerpark Uelsen has a new eye-catcher that not only looks beautiful, but also makes an important contribution to nature conservation: an insect hotel. It offers bees, beetles and other useful insects suitable nesting and hibernation opportunities and thus actively supports local biodiversity.

The insect hotel was created as part of the joint project "Together strong for the climate", which was initiated by the Grafschaft Bentheim nature conservation association, the VEL Landwirtschaftlicher Kreisverein Grafschaft Bentheim, Der Paritätische Grafschaft Bentheim, the multi-generational house in Nordhorn and the KreisLandFrauenVerband Grafschaft Bentheim .

The various rural women's boards have individually decorated the hotels with natural materials such as bamboo, reeds, wood and cones. Each team received its own specimen, which has now been set up in the respective association area. Two women from the Uelsen Countrywomen's Association completed the insect hotel. It has found its place in the Bürgerpark - an ideal location to provide new habitats for numerous insects.

In this way, the Bürgerpark will not only be a place of recreation for people, but also an important habitat for many small but indispensable helpers in our natural world.
