New activity center strengthens the sports infrastructure in Uelsen

SV Olympia Uelsen has completed a new central wing at the sports park, which significantly expands the existing facility and connects two older parts of the building. The new two-storey building with its striking wooden façade forms the club's new "activity center" and offers modern changing rooms, shower facilities and a multi-purpose community room.

Two spacious crew cabins were created on the first floor, which are equipped with new benches and coat rails. A light-colored tiled floor and a modern design create a friendly atmosphere. The cabins are connected via a shared wet area with eight shower fittings. An efficient ventilation system ensures that moisture is reliably removed from the rooms. In addition, two new referee cabins with their own shower, a barrier-free WC and a room for digital results reporting have been installed.

On the upper floor, the activity center also offers two additional crew cabins with identical equipment as well as a shared shower room. The centerpiece of the upper floor, however, is the new group and meeting room. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, it offers a direct view of the main pitch and the stands. In future, this room will be available to the club's departments for meetings, training sessions or organizational meetings.

The project was not only a joint effort in terms of construction, but also financially. Around 1,400 hours of work by members of SV Olympia contributed significantly to reducing the construction costs. Much of the work - in particular the demolition of the old porch, roofing work and paving - was carried out by the club itself. In addition, local companies supported the club with sponsored or discounted materials and tools. In total, the costs amounted to just under one million euros, around 200,000 euros less than originally estimated. Of this, around 290,000 euros came from grants from the state of Lower Saxony for funding in accordance with the "Directive on the granting of grants for the promotion and implementation of LEADER", with the district contributing a further 90,000 euros. The remaining amount was borne jointly by the association and the municipality.

With the new activity center, SV Olympia Uelsen now has a contemporary, functional and sustainably designed extension that will strengthen Uelsen as a sports location in the long term.
