Season opening at the forest campsite in Uelsen on April 25, 2025

In previous years, the summer season at the forest campsite in Uelsen has opened around or on the Dutch Koningsdag. The campsite, which is open all year round and has around 150 permanent pitches, 5 half-yearly pitches and 15 short-term pitches, is starting this year's summer season.
The groundsman Jürgen Grobbe knows his regular guests, who have been hard at work on their pitches for some time now, getting everything in order for the new season. The weather has been playing along for a few days now, so that the pitches can be freed from their winter hibernation in pleasant temperatures and sunshine.
Although it is not as sunny and warm today as it has been in recent days, around 40 guests have gathered to enjoy coffee, tea and homemade cake in a convivial atmosphere. The municipality of Uelsen invited them to the entrance area to the forest campsite.
For many, the campsite is a traditional place of recreation. They swap their everyday life for camping as often as possible. Some are already the third generation on the site. Every year they spend a wonderful and relaxing time in Uelsen. The location of the forest campsite is ideal for this. Here you will find peace and relaxation. Those who prefer something more active can set off on a hike or cycle tour in the slightly hilly surroundings.
