The third Uelsen Music Summer raised 500 euros for the Niedergrafschaft e.V. music school support group. Hilde van den Belt from Uelsen Touristik and joint mayor Hajo Bosch presented the symbolic cheque to Jan Albers, chairman of the support group, and principal Boyan Karanjuloff.
The Förderkreis supports children and young people who are unable to finance music lessons or a rental instrument themselves and promotes projects that enrich cultural life in the region. "Music unites - and this donation ensures that all children get the chance to learn an instrument," emphasized Karanjuloff.
The Uels Summer of Music attracted numerous visitors to the square by the fountain over seven days. There was a varied program under the motto "Umsonst und draußen": rock, evergreens, big band, country rock, jazz, choir and brass band music as well as children's participatory music - there was something for every generation.
"The fact that this wonderful music event, which has now become firmly established in the calendar of events, can now also be donated to the support group of our inter-municipal Niedergrafschaft music school is a great sign of a living community and cultural attitude," said a delighted Mayor of the joint municipality Hajo Bosch.
