Music brings people together, fosters a sense of community, and opens up new opportunities, especially for children and young people. During the fourth Uelser Musiksommer in 2026, a total of 500 euros was raised for a good cause. The funds collected in the donation box during the event series have now been handed over to the Förderkreis der Musikschule Niedergrafschaft e.V.
Helga Brünger from Uelsen Tourism and Hajo Bosch, mayor of the joint municipality, presented the donation check to Jan Albers, chairman of the support group, and to school principal Boyan Karanjuloff.
The donation is intended to support children and teenagers from low-income families. The funds will be used to subsidize music lessons and provide instruments on loan. In addition, the support group can use the funds to support cultural projects in the region.
“We are very pleased that the Uel Music Summer not only provides musical entertainment but also, through the donations, helps give children and young people access to music,” emphasizes Hajo Bosch, mayor of the joint municipality.
The Uelsen Music Summer took place for the fourth time in 2026 and has since become a regular feature on the Uelsen municipal calendar. Over the course of six days, visitors were able to enjoy free open-air live concerts. The events were well-attended again this year. Uelsen Tourism once again put together a varied program with something for everyone—from rock concerts and choirs to interactive music for children.
The donation box gave guests the opportunity to voluntarily support the event series while also contributing to a good cause in the region.
