Successful test of the town hall's emergency power supply!

In summer 2025, the joint municipality of Uelsen purchased a new emergency power generator to supply the town hall in the event of a blackout, so that the town hall remains available to the population as a point of contact in the event of an emergency.

The unit is permanently installed on a car trailer and is therefore mobile and quick to deploy.

After a short test was successfully carried out outside of operating hours in January 2026, testing has now been carried out under real conditions - and with success! 😊

With its output of 60 kVA, the genset had no problem supplying the town hall with electricity throughout the day. Even the continuous energy-intensive operation of the elevator posed no problem.

The joint municipality of Uelsen also has three additional emergency power generators - all of which are also permanently installed on a car trailer. These are available to supply the three fire stations in Uelsen, Wilsum and Itterbeck. All fire stations have appropriate feed-in options - these devices have already proven themselves under real conditions during a power outage in November 2024.

After the test at the town hall, the fuel tank was still well filled after a total of 12 hours of operation; in the event of a shortage, a local supplier would have delivered fuel. In the event of a crisis, the joint municipality of Uelsen has stockpiled diesel for refueling the fire department vehicles and emergency generators.
