Joint Tree-Planting Event by the City Council and City Administration at the End of the Legislative Term
As the legislative term drew to a close, the Uelsen City Council and municipal administration once again joined forces: Last Friday, as part of a statewide tree-planting campaign organized by Natur-Netz Niedersachsen, ten native trees were planted at two locations within the municipality.
The selected areas are located on Itterbecker Straße between the roundabout and the entrance to a supermarket, as well as on Höcklenkamper Straße near the sports fields. The locations were deliberately chosen. The section of Itterbecker Straße, in particular, is currently heavily paved due to the two bike paths and sidewalks and has very few trees.
Through this tree-planting initiative, the community aims to contribute to greening the townscape and promoting native trees and shrubs. At the same time, this joint effort at the end of the legislative term provided a wonderful opportunity to come together once more and take action for the community.
The Natur-Netz Niedersachsen tree-planting campaign ran through November 1. A total of 13 organizations signed up. Each participating organization received up to 500 euros to purchase trees and necessary materials.
