What is the ADFC Bicycle Climate Test (FKT)?
Since September 1, cyclists have once again had the opportunity to provide feedback on how bicycle-friendly their community is. How much is already being done locally to support cycling? What has improved in recent years? Are the bike paths in good condition? In short: Is cycling fun—or is it stressful?
This year’s focus features the ADFC asking questions about the mobility of children and teenagers. New additions include the FKT for Teens, which specifically surveys 10- to 20-year-olds about their cycling habits, and the FKT for Municipalities, where local governments can document their efforts to promote cycling. This provides a comprehensive picture of how bicycle-friendly German municipalities are.
Why should you participate?
Because your experience matters and because numbers speak for themselves. The more people from Uelsen who participate, the more meaningful the results will be.
The results of the three surveys will be published in the spring of 2027. They will help transportation planners and policymakers draw comparisons with other locations, identify strengths and weaknesses, and take targeted measures to promote local cycling. By participating in the survey, cyclists provide direct feedback to policymakers on how bike-friendly their community is.
