Yesterday, the pro-democracy bench, donated by the “Grafschaft zeigt Gesicht” coalition, was officially presented by representatives of the organization and installed at City Hall.
A bench bearing the clear message “No Room for Racism”—a call to action against exclusion, hatred, and discrimination, or, to put it positively, in support of diversity.
Hajo Bosch, mayor of the joint municipality, warmly thanked the “Grafschaft zeigt Gesicht” initiative for its important social commitment since 2023, for its strong stance, and for the wonderful bench donation campaign.
He hopes that people will feel invited to strike up a conversation with one another on the bench—openly, respectfully, and as equals—and that the bench will thus become a place for people to meet. This is intended to send a clear message:
There is no place for exclusion and misanthropy in our joint municipality.
