"We're going to Hols"

The dance event organized by the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council of the Uelsen Joint Municipality at
under the theme “Wij goat noa Hols” will take place again this year. On Saturday,
September 26, attendees can once again hit the dance floor
at the “Zur Linde” restaurant in Itterbeck.

Following last year’s tremendous success—when tickets sold out in just two hours
—the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board decided some time ago to
hold the event again. After several weeks of preparation, the time is almost here again: The “Over-60s ‘
’ Dance Revival,” under the old motto “Wij goat noa Hols” (Low German for “We’re going to Hols”)
kicks off on Saturday, September 26, at the very same restaurant where people were already dancing more than 50
years ago—and which still exists today as the restaurant “Zur Linde.” The event
begins at 2:30 p.m. (doors open at 1:30 p.m.), and is scheduled to end around 9:00 p.m. Just like in the
good old days, the music will once again be live—performed by the “Vechtetaler”
Karl Heinz Determann.

Registration will take place on two days at Uelsen City Hall

“There’s already a lot of interest. We have room for 200 guests this year,” reveals
Jürgen Armbrust, chairman of the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board, pointing out the two registration dates,
when tickets can be purchased: On Thursday, September 3, and Friday,
September 4, tickets can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the wedding room on the ground floor of the
New City Hall in Uelsen.

The price per person is 30 euros and must be paid in cash upon registration. This
includes admission, coffee, and cake—as well as a traditional dinner, just like the kind you could have gotten
in Hinderink’s kitchen a good 50 years ago: currywurst with
fries, fried potatoes, and a fried egg, or bockwurst with potato salad.
