A Cross-Border Choral Experience at the Uelser Musiksommer

Uelsen – As part of the Uelsen Music Summer, visitors can look forward to a special musical highlight: The Uelsen Gospel Choir and the Dutch pop choir Reload will join forces to present a varied evening of music on the market square in Uelsen. Both choirs are known for their musical diversity, rousing performances, and the unifying power of singing together.

The ecumenical gospel choir from the Lower County of Bentheim brings together about 50 singers who share a passion for gospel music. Under the direction of pop cantor Julia Uhlenwinkel, the choir has been delighting audiences for many years at church services, Christmas markets, cultural festivals, and church events. In addition, the choir regularly participates in choral musicals and is known far beyond the borders of the County of Bentheim. With lively gospel songs, great musical passion, and a strong sense of community, the choir consistently creates special concert experiences.

Popkoor Reload from the Netherlands adds an international flair to the program. The choir creatively reinterprets well-known pop songs and combines musical quality with a palpable joy in making music together. Under the guidance of a professional vocal coach and conductor, the choir presents a four-part repertoire ranging from timeless classics by Queen and ABBA to current hits by Loreen and Son Mieux. The special atmosphere within the choir immediately spreads to the audience, making every concert a thrilling experience.

Together, the two choirs create a cross-border musical experience that brings people together across language and national boundaries. Visitors can look forward to a summer evening full of energy, emotion, moving voices, and familiar melodies.

The “Uelser Musiksommer: A Cross-Border Choral Experience” project is made possible by the Germany-Netherlands Interreg Program and its program partners, and is co-financed by the European Union (EU).
